Voters may be passing fracking moratoriums or bans in 3 communities and narrowly defeating it one town, according to an article up in the Denver Post. The results are not final.

I just looked (7:10am) at the Denver Post website and here is the link to most current vote totals:

Voters supported by significant margins a moratorium in 3 communities. The vote totals in Broomfield are very close, with a slim lead for those opposed to a moratorium. The Broomfield count is so close that I am not sure it is final.
It will come to PA, too, John. In fact as you know the PA Democratic Party's state committee already voted in favor of a moratorium, but the elite Dem Party types are pro-fracking all the way, albeit they all say they will regulate it more closely. May I ask you a specific question. As Governor would you vote to continue the moratorium in the Delaware River Basin until such time as a comprehensive environmental and health impact study is completed? Would you put resources behind such a study and get your fellow governors and the President's DRBC representative to commit resources as well?
ReplyDeleteSimple answers are Yes. When Corbett recently fired off a letter bullying the DRBC, I was the only candidate for Governor to send a letter to the DRBC telling them to not move.
DeleteDo you have a copy of that letter that can be shared?

DeleteI think I have it. I will check. A few articles were written about the letter too.

ReplyDeleteColorado has been fracking longer than Pa. ! shows how the public sentiment is moving to bans/moratoriums. That should be very telling; We need a ban/or moratorium in Pa..
