Pollution Fact: TVA Coal Ash Storage Causes Groundwater Pollution At 11 Sites

Once coal is burnt, coal ash is produced, and safe disposal of coal ash remains challenging. Indeed, a new report finds that TVA has polluted groundwater at 11 locations, where it has been storing coal ash.

The pollution from coal ash typically includes arsenic, boron, cobalt, sulfates that can make water unsafe to drink.
