Texas may well be the world's biggest hot spot for wind. Texas like big, and big wind keeps roaring in the Lone Star state like a mighty storm.
Texas will add 645 megawatts of wind just between August and the end of 2013. But that is just a part of the unending, Texas wind rush. By 2016, another 6,000 megawatts will be built!

Building 6,000 megawatts of wind is the equivalent of 2 big new nuclear plants and doing it in 3 years. Stunning.
When it comes to wind, Texas is all cattle and no hat. Texas will soon have about 17,000 megawatts of wind power operating. It's become an example of what wind can do for America and the world. I will take my hat off to Texas for its wind leadership.
do we have to wait for all the gas to be depleted before we move forward on other energy sources here in PA? That would make that bridge fuel as sturdy as most of the existing bridges in PA! As far as hats off to Texas we don't have to go too far these days to see all the Texas license plates. Texas has moved away from fossil fuel extraction at home and has brought it here. Now, that is progress, for Texas.
ReplyDeleteIt is past time to make sure natural gas jobs in PA go to Pennsylvanians. Way past time! Texas is building a lot of wind but it is still number 1 in oil and gas production too. And by a lot. It's oil and gas industries are much bigger than its wind business. But it is good to see wind grow so rapidly.
