2013 Global Solar Installation Will Be Equal To About 8 New Nuclear Plants

Deutsche Bank's new 2013 global solar installation number of 40,000 megawatts is eye-popping.  It will provide actual electricity production equal to 8 new nukes, assuming each nuke is about 800 megawatts and has a capacity factor of more than 90%.

The US has a nuclear fleet of 103 units that represent a bit less than 25% of the world's nuclear plants.  The annual global solar market is already enormous and is still growing rapidly.

Within 10 years the world likely will be building each year an amount of solar that is the equivalent of approximately 25 new nuclear plants.  That is a global energy game changer!
