Green Car Sales Up 15%, Despite A Drop In Prius Numbers

The most impressive thing about the February 2013 green car sales is the incredible number of different green car models available today.  Long gone are the days when the Prius was just about the whole green car category.  Toyota, Honda, Ford, General Motors, and Nissan offer multiple, attractive green cars.

More than 48,000 green cars sold in February, 2013, up 15% compared to February 2012. Impressively, sales increased, even as the Prius, the world's third largest global seller, had a bad US sales month.

Increasing green car sales, despite poor numbers for the flagship Prius, shows the strength and diversity of the green car market.  Green cars have a chance to become more than a niche!

  1. Did you see the lawsuit that Investors have filed against Spain for eliminating tax breaks & subsidies for Green Energy? Spain & Germany have realized that Green Energy is not economical or worth it! The Green Energy Cos. say they can't operate profitably without these crony capitalist subsidies and tax breaks. It is wrong to impoverish people with higher energy bills to line the pockets of rich people put industry at a competitive disadvantage!
