EQT Converts 2nd Drilling Rig From Diesel To Gas: Slashes Pollution, Truck Traffic & Saves $400,000/Year

In another example of its leadership within the gas industry, EQT announced yesterday it had converted a second drilling rig from diesel to natural gas.  www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/news/2012/10/04/eqt-puts-natural-gas-powered-rig-into.html.  The gas used from the rig comes from the field.

EQT calculates that using gas slashes carbon dioxide emissions by 20% to 30% as well as nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and particulates.  It also cuts trucking delivering diesel to drilling rigs and saves $400,000 per year.

This is a powerful illustration of how using more gas to displace oil is good for pocketbooks and the environment.
